Hello 2018!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you all were able to ring in the new year with family, friends, loved ones, or all of the above. If you’re like me, you enjoy coming into the new year with close friends, sipping on champagne, and laughing as much as possible.

Before 2017 ended, I knew this next year was one I really needed to stick to my guns and actually complete a few resolutions. I was one of those people who thought “just because it’s a new year doesn’t mean you HAVE to have resolutions, you can do it at any point in the year.” But this year, I knew it was time for me to shake that thought and plan ahead. I wanted to be my own accountability partner this year.

MY RESOLUTIONS:

  1. Go outside of your comfort zone as often as possible.
  2. Read more.
  3. Travel as much as possible.
  4. Write a blog post at least once a week.
  5. Learn a new skill (piano, cooking, sewing, etc.)
  6. Practice Spanish.
  7. Be more active.
  8. Keep up with a bullet journal.

I’ve been really excited about two of these resolutions: traveling and keeping up with a bullet journal. I already have a few travel plans in mind and I’ve been designing my new bullet journal almost every day since I got it for Christmas.

My bullet journal:

I still have a few major pages I want to complete (a United States travel page and a January memories page), however my goal is to design each month and find my style and go off of how I’m feeling. I mainly wanted to start this to track my anxiety attacks and what could possibly cause anxiety in my life. I’ll keep everyone updated on how it helps.

(Yes, I did copy 95% of my page designs from Pinterest…I’m learning, okay?!?)

My travel plans:

I’m so excited for 2018 because I have the opportunity to explore the country I live in. This past year I was able to travel abroad and it was one of the best experiences, but I’m ready to take time to travel the United States and take random weekends to find new cities to explore.

  1. San Diego
  2. Washington D.C. (my sister is getting MARRIED!)
  3. Nashville
  4. Birmingham

Where else should I try to go this year? Any of my friends reading this want a visitor this year? I’d be happy to stay with you and explore your city together πŸ˜‰

What are your resolutions? Anyone else have a bullet journal and want to share helpful tips to a first timer?

I hope you’re all feeling as hopeful about this year as I am. Find your passion and run with it this year. There’s no better time than now.

P.S. Here’s a look at my Instagram best nine of 2017. I had an amazing year and I’m thankful for everyone who spent it with me.BestNine2017

  1. Come to Houston! In the summer. And we can go to the hill country for a couple nights and go to some cool swimming holes and eat bar-b-q and drink beer 😊
