An Explanation

Hey there!

This blog has a very simple concept. While I’m studying in England, I’ll be blogging about my experiences, my thoughts, and photos of where I’m at. This is my first time out of the United States, therefore, I’m a completely inexperienced traveller. You’ll read about my success stories, my struggles, and everything in between.

Throughout my journey I’ll be traveling to Harlaxton, England, Cardiff, Wales, Liverpool, England, York, England, London, England, back to Harlaxton, England ( then the program ends, but my travels don’t! ) After the program, myself and my best friend Amy will be traveling to Paris, France to meet up with my sister Molly and her friend Claire, then Amy and I are parting ways with them to head to Dublin, Ireland for a few days. Then the day before our flight takes off to the U.S. of A. we’ll be back in London for one last night.

I’m leaving June 8th, so just a few days away! Keep checking back, who knows, maybe I’ll post about packing and any other things I face before the plane even takes off!

It’ll be a trip to remember and I’m so happy to be sharing it with all of you!

  1. Good luck on your new adventures abroad! I love hearing from newbie travelers and hearing about their perspectives outside the country. I used to be a flight attendant, so for a long plane ride I would highly recommend you dress in layers and bring an extra pair of socks- international flights can get cold! Best of luck and looking forward to more posts. 🙂

    1. Thanks for all the advice! I was actually unsure of how to dress for the flight so that’s really good to know! Also, thanks for the support! I can’t wait to update this much more once things get rolling!

      1. Oh and please wear comfortable shoes! I’ve seen many stylish women walk on the plane in knee high boots, only to be limping off of the plane 2hrs later (your feet tend to swell in the air).

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! I’ve been to London before and other European countries. I love getting people excited about traveling. 🙂

      2. Yeah I only plan to bring comfortable ( yet still cute ) shoes! But I didn’t ever realize feet swell on planes! I’ll definitely take you up on any other questions I may think of.

Actually, what type of adapter would you suggest and how many? I’m at that point in last minute shopping! hah Thank you so much!

  2. Good luck Casie! You’re going to have soooo much fun! And wear your heavy stuff like te
nnis shoes on the plane so you have the extra weight in your suitcase for other stuff!

      1. I’m so excited for you! It seems like it’s going to be such a fun trip!
And I was creeping on the other comment and since you’re going to different countries, I’d try to go to Best Buy and find some kind of universal charger. You can get different ones for different counties but this would probably be easier. Also remember that things like straighteners and blow driers use a different amount of wattage in our country compared to overseas. My straightener blew out when I went to Germany so just be aware! 🙂

      2. Yeah I just heard about the hair stuff, WHICH BLOWS. My hair is gonna be a mess over there, but whatever. Yeah I just got some universal adapters today! So I’m almost all set! Thanks a bunch!

  3. How long will you be staying in England?? I too am moving there for school in August. I will be there for at least a year however. I started a blog for the same reason you did. I’m so excited! I will be keeping up with you! Good luck!

    1. I’ll be there until about mid-July! That’s so exciting that you’re actually staying for a full year over there! I’ll keep up with you as well! What made you pick England?

      1. It was actually the school. I’m going to NYU, but the specific program I chose (Historical and Sustainable Architecture) is held at their campus in London. Crazy, right? I’m stoked.

      2. I’m not there yet. It’ll be my first year of grad school – I went to UNC Charlotte for undergrad. I’ll graduate from NYU but will never actually attend school in NYC. Kind of strange…
